From
Bach to Broadway!
Voices
For Charity (VFC) consistently holds two concerts throughout the
year, as well as special events that involve music in some way.
Annual Variety
Concerts
Our annual
Spring Bouquet Concert is held the first Sunday in June, and features a variety of talented musicians from all over the New Jersey area. The concert
always includes the Voices For Charity Choir,
which usually opens and closes the show with music
selections that vary from Bach to Broadway!
In addition to the VFC Choir, each concert
usually includes two other acts, such as a featured guest soloist,
instrumental duet or ensemble, poet, dance troupe, or radio play!
Examples of our past VFC Concert
Programs include performances by
vocal soloists Debra Patchel (from Broadway’s La Boheme),
renowned regional baritone/bass Glenn Boothby, and award winning
Manhattan Association of Cabaret & Clubs (MAC) Female Jazz vocalist of
the year, Sue Matsuki. Instrumental soloists and ensembles have
been represented by the talented Rubin Brothers on piano, the
outstanding Readington Middle School Jazz Band, and a toe-tapping
Gospel Band.
Diversity is key point in both the charities
that VFC supports, and the talent that we show case. In the past, we
have had story tellers, bell choirs, dance troupes, poets and original
radio plays on stage to provide a unique perspective of sharing God’s
love and joy through music. If you know of a talented
musician/performance artist or group or that would like to donate
their time to our concert stage, please
contact us!
Hunterdon
Youth Choir Concert
Every spring, the Hunterdon Youth Choir (HYC)
graciously and generously presents a wonderful performance to benefit
Voices For Charity. Sponsored by
Hunterdon Academy of the Arts in Flemington,
these talented youngsters give of their time and share their
delightful music with friends, relatives and neighbors to help
contribute to the VFC cause.
Special Events with
Music!
Voices For Charity is always looking for new and exciting
events to raise money for and awareness of our benefiting charities.
In 2002 and 2003, we held a Gala Event entitled,
“An Evening of New York Cabaret!”
These special evenings included performances by artists from the New
York City cabaret scene, a cocktail reception with elaborate hors
d’oeuvres and raffle prizes.
A favorite American past time, VFC is
offering organized trips to local
baseball games including the Somerset
Patriots and Trenton Thunder games. Our musical touch? An ensemble
from the VFC choir sings the national anthem! Lots of fun activities
occur at these games as well, including Fireworks, throwing out the
first pitch, give-aways and 50-50 raffles. A portion of the ticket
price is donated back to VFC when you purchase your ticket through VFC
on the selected evenings.
Another special event sponsored by VFC
is our Tasting Dinners.
Music plays in the background, as we sit and sample multiple courses
of delicious food paired with selected wines. Enjoy scrumptious food
and pleasant conversation with family and/or friends, knowing that a
portion of your enjoyment is benefiting a diversity of worthy
charities.
